I am a Florida native and have always had a love of this place and  an interest in nature and art. My interest in art began long before college, but before focusing on formal studies, I worked for several years in a professional photo studio and then for a film studio. After those experiences, I changed direction and attended the University of Florida (UF) where I received my BS and MS in Plant Sciences, then working in ornamental plant breeding research at the UF/IFAS/Mid-Florida Research and Education Center (MREC) for about 12 years. In the early 90's I again redirected my interests into information technology and I am currently the IT coordinator at MREC.

Circuitously, I returned to photography via the computer and digital cameras.

While PhotoGraphics is a collection of images in several categories taken over time, my PhotoBlog represents images shot on a daily basis or rediscover in my personal archives. I have also started adding haiku to some of my photographs that inspire such verse, I hope that you visit "A photo and a haiku ..." and leave a comment if you enjoy the offerings.
